Information about the Hadrosaurus: Hadrosaurus foulkii was a species of dinosaur native to the area that is now New Jersey. It is believed to have lived in the late Cretaceous period, which was about 136 million to 65 million years ago. Only one skeleton has even been unearthed, and this was found in in 1838 by John Estaugh, who was digging a pit when he discovered the bones. The site is now a National Historic Landmark. The Hadrosaurus became the first ever dinosaur skeleton to be mounted. Hadrosaurus was likely a plant eater and walked mostly on it’s back legs. The Hadrosaurus was officially declared the state fossil of New Jersey in 1991.
